Do you want to know what I do when going to the parks? I am going to share my special tricks to make the most of a Disney parks’ day with a Genie+.
You can make Genie+ Lightning Lane bookings through the Genie Tip Board in the Disney World app. To make a Genie+ selection for a particular ride, you’ll tap on the return time shown and follow the prompts to confirm your party… …and secure your spot! When your arrival window/return time comes, you’ll then visit the attraction, use that ride’s “Lightning Lane,” and skip the standby line!
You can buy the Genie+ the same day of your park reservation, and make your first Genie+ Lightning Lane booking for the day at 7AM. It doesn’t matter if you’re a guest of a Disney hotel or not, all guests can make their first booking at 7AM. Please remember that the cost changes depending on the park, the day and expected attendance.

When making a reservation, there is a 120-minute rule to have in mind. The 120-minute rule is determined by when you make the reservation, not the return time for the attraction. So if you log on at 7 AM to make a reservation for different attractions, you will have to wait 120 minutes (or after riding the attraction, whichever comes first) to make your next selections.
If you ask me, my advice is to start planning your day early morning, to arrive at the parks around noon.
Why? Let’s say that you started making reservations at 7AM and you choose the most booked attraction for 4PM, then at 9AM you book another ride for 3 PM, at 11AM you can booke a third ride for 2PM, and when you arrive at the parks, you can just walk around and get into the rides with lower waiting time until it is time for your first reservation. Do you see where this goes? Why to be waiting at the park with overexited kids tired of being on a queue, when you can plan it beforehand?
I know that it takes some planning, but trust me when I say that riding your top 5 attractions with no waiting line in 4 hours, is a faboulous experience for the little ones! And yes, you can survive an entire park day with no queue-related tantrums 🙂
